Temperature and precipitation, so when you do come and visit us you're able to plan the best day. Don't be off put by the cold winter temperature however- sometimes true beauty is protect so that only the strong willed can see it.

So you've decided to visit us! Good choice. Now the question is, what do you wear? Well, traveler, that depends. Do you plan on visiting us in the summer? If so shorts and a t-shirt, paired with some hiking boots would suffice. However, if you plan on coming in the winter, dress warmly. You'll need everything, two or three coats, thermal undergarments, gloves, hats, mittens, a scarf. We recommend bringing a portable heater as well. Temperatures fluctuate seasonally here, and winters can be some of the coldest on earth.

Bears can often be found in coniferous forests. In order to survive the harsh winters, they hibernate. Their fur is a deep, earthy color which helps them blend into the surrounding forest.

Wolves can also be found in coniferous forests. Wolves have adapted to hunt in backs to able to take down deer and elk which are commonly found there. Wolves also have an extremely thick winter coat to help them survive the winter.

Pine trees grow in coniferous forests. They are tall and narrow so that snow will slide off of the branches without breaking them. These trees have also adapted to grow close to one another for protection against the chilling winds.
The Thimbleberry has adapted to survive in all climates, from moist weather to dry weather. This aids it's survival in coniferous forests because of the extreme differences in temperature and precipitation. It can has also adapted to survive in moderate shade, perfect for growing underneath pine trees.

1. The Giant Sequoia tree grows here. It is the oldest species of tree, and some are still growing to this day.
